First day in Paris!

Paris man, WHY?  I’m not really sure what I expected but it’s been exceeded.  Seeing the city for the 1st time was mind-bottling!  When we first stepped out of the train station early this morning into the daylight of Paris, Jared and I looked at each other and I felt like we were transported back in time, but then we looked around and apparently everyone else went with us.  The buildings are old, detailed and elaborate-blemished to perfection.  The people look exactly the way you would picture them.  The men and women dress exactly the same!  Skinny jeans, ankle boots and scarves lol.  Oh and those black turtle necks every movie portrays French men wearing?  Yep, its cliché but true!  And the smoking?! Everyone has a cigarette in their hand, always!
So far our experience with dealing with French people is not what we expected.  Everyone has been very friendly and willing to help.  Our “flat” is about ¼ the size of our treehouse, so if you can imagine living in an easy bake oven then you’re close to picturing our accommodations.  What’s weird is we couldn’t have hoped for anything better.  The location is ideal and the guy we’re renting from is a, well… dreamboat!  He is totally laid back and stayed for a half hour writing on a sheet of paper all of the best “non-tourist” restaurants and cafes, areas of the city we should avoid, etc.  Jet lag sucks, all we want to do is sleep.  Hopefully it will get better soon.
We ended our first night in Paris at a little restaurant and had dinner outside. The food and wine was yummy! So far Paris is awesome! Wish all of you were here with us! :(
P.S The weather so far is sunny and clear and it's a good thing the sex slavery camps have good wifi or else we wouldn't be able to post this.

  3. Not everyone can start a blog with a shirtless, 50-something-man with a goiter...and that's a good thing! I check your blog 50 times a day. Glad to see you made it ok. My backyard isn't the same without you! Frank didn't come home last night. I told Phee he probably spent the night at a friend's house but she is worried he got ran over. Let's hope she's wrong..
With that being said, you do the math. Not that there's anything wrong with that! Love you guys!
