So it was another beautiful day here in Prague. Except today we got to spend it with one of our sisters from a local congregation! A sister in my hall met her at an international convention and gave me her number and told me to call her. So we did and met up with her today. She was sooo cool!!! Her name is Veronika and she’s a doctor. She speaks English, Russian and German in addition to Czech! She was really fun and so normal, which is a plus. :) She showed us some more views of the city and took us to a great place to eat authentic Czech food and beer. It was a beef and potato dumpling dish with some sort of gravy sauce with globs of horseradish. De-lish. It was so nice having a local with us! She was so mad when we told her about what happen to us at the train station. She said they do it on purpose because they know tourist don’t know what they’re doing. Suzy-that’s funny what you said about them taking the money and pocketing it because she said if we just said “no we won’t pay you” there’s nothing they really could’ve done. However, they did give us a fancy lil receipt. Whatever, what’s done is done. Veronika showed us the English congregation here which wasn’t far from us. Unfortunately, there meeting is tomorrow night and we’ll be gone. :( We met some young brothers and one of them spoke such perfect English you could barely detect and accent. I told him he sounds like and American and he said he “picked it up from watching too many American movies”. Ha!
Tomorrow we leave for Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart! Hopefully it's cool. We leave you with a montage of all the Czech beer and food we've stuffed our faces with in the last two days! Hic...
It's so so nice you got to meet up with the sister and brothers. That's the best! Your dad's jealous of all that beer and hot dogs too. It did look really yummy. Hugs and kisses.
ReplyDeleteHey guys its Tiana...you remember me right? jk. Sounds like you guys are having such a great time. Seeing all the pics and reading your posts makes me want to jump on a plane... so jealous!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Want to visit you ALL very SOON!!!
Sorry to high-jack your blog, but just want to let Uncle Billy know that at work today I got bit by a dog, twice. He got me once on each leg. Good thing it was in the 3% that dont have rabies. Sad thing is when I told the kids, they asked what kind of dog it was. When I told them it was a poodle they pointed at me and laughed so hard they almost peed their pants. I didnt think it was that funny. And Jessica, maybe Klee-claw is sneaking out of the house with Frank. Just a thought. Oh yeah, jared & Laura this is your blog right?....THANKS ALOT, Sum and Tiana just hooked up the old VCR so we could sit down as a family and watch French Kiss. yippie!!!!
ReplyDeletewow- just when I thought Frank couldn't get any creepier I read Jessica's post.
ReplyDeleteOh btw, that Czech sister you hung out with sounds like a real idiot.
ReplyDeleteGimmie some of that BEER! Watch out for those men in black.. i heard they will take you to some kind of sex slavery camp. Prague sounds sweet! Brats & beer. right your alley dad. This is Shawn btw
ReplyDeleteJeez leave it to Shawn to bring up that sexy slavery again..someone's obsessed!
ReplyDeletePhoenix just told me there are frogs in Prague. I bet you she's gonna say there's rain in Spain too. So predictable..
Miguel I'm sorry you got bit by a poodle but that's really funny. Phoenix will like that story because she's obsessed with poodles and she doesn't like you. I'm just kidding about that last part. Good point about Klee-claw though. You haven't met him yet, but ever since Little Klee-claw came into the picture I think Klee-claw Sr has been wanting to get out of the house. Anyways, hmm where was I? Oh yes, how rude of me- I haven't said hi to Tiana yet! You should come visit soon.
By the way, who's this Jared and Laura everyone keeps talking about?
Where has this been all my life?? You guys deserve a BLOG gold metal. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteps this is Felicia, i dont know why it shows up in code
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Jared and Laura are, but Jess, you're right. I think Shawn has seen Taken one too many times...
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous! Sun, beer and gorgeous scenery! What more could anyone ask for? I am thoroughly enjoying your trip through your blog. Your experience with the subway and the subway police reminded me of the time when, as a teenager, I was in Poland with a group of teenagers. One of the girls lost her passport and had to stay behind while we went on to Austria. We thought we would never see her again.
Your travel buddies will be winging their way to Milan and you in the morning. They are very excited and I am excited with them. I can't wait to hear about all the wonders of Italy and share in all the fun! Have a glass or two or three for me :)))
